Lingerie Football = Tough Chicks

Members of the Dallas Desire line up for the National Anthem prior to their game against the Los Angeles Temptation for a Lingerie Football League game October 23, 2009 in Grand Prairie, Texas. It was recently reported that the Lingerie Football League ("LFL") is back up and running this season, and will have a 30 minute highlight show on MTV2 every Friday night recapping the plays of the week. The LFL is a women's tackle football league where the sexy players wear nothing but lingerie, helmets, and shoulder pads, and the teams have names like San Diego Seduction and Philadelphia Passion. Sounds like a recipe for success, right?

Well, the concept started only in 2004 as counter programming for the Superbowl halftime show, and is now in its second year of a full fledged league. (If it wasn't for Mike Ditka, a partial owner of the league, who knows where the LFL would be today?) The LFL is still probably in the red, but there is hope for major success, as evidenced by the MTV2 contract.

At first glance, this league may appear to be a degrading spectacle of women prancing around in their underwear, but I implore you to dig deeper. Here are gorgeous women making a living (or at least a meager paycheck) in minimal clothing, but they are freaking tough. Just check out this video on their website. Men may be watching the LFL just to see hot chicks beat each other up, but so what? The women that play are legitimate entertainers and must love the game, in order to be so willing to break a nail, or even worse, pop an implant.

Tune in to MTV2 on September 3, 11 p.m. est. Your boys will drool and if you cant appreciate a good touchdown, then you are just jealous.
