We are used to seeing Shaq battle the Boston Celtics, but now he can call himself a resident of Bean Town, or more appropriately, The City of Champions (we will see if Shaq can help the city keep that nickname). Shaq just signed a
two year deal worth about $3 million with the Celtics. This is a great pick up for the Celtics, because he will help with rebounding and scoring, but more importantly, he will step in as a solid player where injuries leave holes in the team.
We need to commend Shaq, an old-fogey yet former superstar in the NBA, for being willing to accept less money and a more minor role on the team in order to play this season. But let's be honest, he felt that he needed the money (or the fame) with all that he must have loss in his divorce just six months ago.
