Just in Time

In order for the NFL rookies to make it to preseason training camp, the players must complete their contracts with the teams that drafted them. Year after year the parties play hardball and hold out for other deals to be made so that they have a barometer on which to base the terms of their deals.

Fortunately for the Dallas Cowboys, they have reached a deal with Dez Bryant, their first round draft pick for 5 years $11.8 million ($8.3 million guaranteed). The deal was made just in time since Cowboys' training camp begins tomorrow. Bryant is the first first-round draft pick to make a deal. Maybe now that Bryant is officially a Cowboy, he can go lock up a hot celebrity girlfriend to hang out with Kim Kardashian (who is dating Miles Austin, another Cowboy). The girls should start lining up, because Bryant is going to be right on Miles Austin's heels and can get some spotlight time!

(Note, Colt McCoy, the third round draft pick for the Cleveland Browns has reached a deal for about $5 million over four years. Fortunately for him, he is a newlywed on his honeymoon, because there is no chance that he was getting a celebrity girlfriend upon signing his deal in Cleveland.)
