What to Watch Tonight

The 2010 ESPYS awards will be hosted tonight by Seth Meyers on ESPN at 9pm ET.

The ESPYS are the Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards. The candidates for the awards are selected by the ESPY Select Nominating Committee and the winners are chosen by online fan voting. Having previously attended the ESPYS, I highly recommend you tuning in. There is a decent red carpet with a wide variety of guests including athletes, models, actors, and musicians.

Here is a list of some of the most anticipated awards with my picks in italics:

Best Record Breaking Performance:
  • Track and Field: Usain Bolt - 100M and 200M
  • NFL: Brett Farve - Most Consecutive Starts
  • Tennis: Roger Federer - Most Grand Slam Singles Titles
  • NCAA Women's Basketball: UCONN - Longest Winning Streak
  • Tennis: John Isner v. Nicolas Mahut - Longest Professional Tennis Match
Best Moment:
  • Golf: Phil Mickelson wins Masters
  • Winter Olympics: Joannie Rochette wins bronze medal
  • NFL: New Orleans Saints win Super Bowl XLIV
  • 2010 FIFA World Cup: Landon Donovan Scores Game Winning Goal against Algeria
