Lebron Hires a Meshugana Rabbi

Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James gives the double salute prior to the Cavaliers NBA basketball game against the Los Angeles Lakers in Cleveland in this January 21, 2010 file photo. James said Thursday he is leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers to join forces with fellow All-Stars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh at the Miami Heat next season in the hope of winning an elusive NBA championship. I recently reported that Amare Stoudamire, a basketball player with the New York Knicks, had discovered that he was actually jewish. Well, today, TMZ reports that Lebron James has hired a Rabbi - Rabbi Yishayahu Yosef Pinto: "Rabbi to the Business Stars." Lebron hired Pinto to provide spiritual guidance during a merchandising meeting that took place today in NY. Lebron reportedly paid Pinto over six figures for the meeting!

Clearly, judaism is becoming the new fad. But who does Rabbi Pinto think he is, charging six figures for a few hours of his time? That does not sound too righteous to me - more like a rip off. This Rabbi Pinto is some kind of "meshugana," especially since he only speaks Hebrew and could not even converse with Lebron or the merchandising execs. Fortunately for Lebron, with all the money that he is making, he does not need to realize that he can get jewish spiritual guidance free of charge.
