Our boss always seems to be out of the office "golfing," and the men in our lives always want to be out on the course. Despite claiming to love all sports, I will admit that even golf bores me (if taken in large doses). The rounds are endless, the announcers sedated, and the players static. Yet, knowing a few things about the 2010 British Open, which is currently being played in the historic St. Andrews course in Scotland, will make you stand out in any business meeting you have this week.
Here is what you need to know:
- Tiger Woods is tied for 5th place at -5 ("5 under par" is the proper lingo). He had a solid performance today, despite being in the midst of his longest winless stretch to start a season. He is still ranked #1 in the world, but it is clear that his troubles with Elin are causing a ruckus in his game.
- 21-year-old cutie Rory McIlroy from Ireland is in the leader position at -9, tying the major championship record.
- John Daly, the 1995 British Open Champion, is tied for second place at -6. Yet, it was his pants that really made a statement. What do you think: Are these pants good/bad for golf fashion?
