Like in sororities, football teams have hazing rituals for rookie players. This weekend, the Dallas Cowboys began initiating its yearly hazing rituals on its rookies. Star rookie, Dez Bryant, was told to carry the pads of a veteran Roy Williams, yet Bryant refused. He clams that he is there to play football not to carry pads. Williams is now threatening to up the ante on the hazing against Bryant.
Bryant has yet to play a minute of NFL football and therefore has not yet proven himself to his teammates. They do not trust him and that it is critical for him to be an integral player in the team. Bryant better realize that he needs to earn the respect of his teammates and if that means carrying pads then so be it.
