Williams organized a dinner with Bryant and the offensive team at a steakhouse on Monday night. Yet, when Bryant arrived at the restaurant the defensive team was also in attendance. The players ordered everything on the menu and even took bottles of wine home with them. And guess who was stuck with the bill - Bryant. Bryant had no choice but to pay the astronomical tab of $54, 896.
Even though Bryant received a guaranteed $8.3 million in his rookie contract and could easily pick up the tab, it would have been a lot smarter to just carry WIlliams' pads.
