Lebron Pulls the Race Card

Last night on CNN, Lebron James claimed that the backlash he suffered with his move to Miami was due to race. James stated when asked whether race played a role that "I think so at times . . . It's always, you know, a race factor." What? Did he really say that?

Shockingly there are some statistics to support James' claim. For example, James' Q Score, the score that measures popularity, dropped significantly with non-blacks and remained about the same with blacks. I am not sure that this really proves anything, but James' agent agreed and then quickly shifted the conversation on CNN.

Clearly a touchy subject (and a potential PR nightmare), but is it really appropriate for James to pull the race card when he independently made "The Decision" he knew would piss people off? Seems to me that race only played a role in Lebron's race out of Ohio.
